Keito revisited

I guess I am becoming one of those people that talks about their cat. I don't even have a cat and never really had any opinons about them until Keito came into our life. Well, my mom and grandmother's life. Now I can't wait to visit them so I can see him. I have become like the "cooky aunt" that comes bearing cat candy. My mom is the "fun sister" that plays with him and my grandmother I guess the "strict parent" that feeds him and disciplines him in Bulgarian.

Is Painting Small the Next Big Thing?

This headline caught my eye at the NY Times recently. It is interesting to read the reasons behind this trend. I personally like working small, partly because of the limitations of my studio and largely because I like the intimacy of each piece. I do have the need to make multiples of small pieces that I construct in a larger format later. Moving around the small paintings is like putting together a giant puzzle, it makes me feel like a child playing with wood blocks.

I recently found iTunes U. Great way find interesting lectures on variety of topics and sources. This morning I listened to a refreshing lecture on the power of the brand of Hello Kitty.

New World Provence

I love revisiting a trusted old recipe. One that can be repeated, with slight variations, perhaps a different wine, different stock, made while listening to different soundtrack even? I am a creature of habit and especially when it comes to cuisine I stick with what I know. My friend B gave me an edition of New World Provence, which she edited so I know it is good, and I have not looked back as far as Provençal cuisine is concerned. One of my favourite dishes to make is the Beef Tenderloin with Wine and Peppercorn Jus. Simple, dare I say fast and so simply complex. Anyways, it helps with marinating choices, delivering decisions and finally just knowing that one can revisit a comforting feeling with a trusted old recipe.

Silver Centre

One of my favourite places to visit in North Vancouver. Today I had a lenghty conversation with a lady there about Argentina. Never dull this place. And I got a great selection of plastic earrings and a candy red leather belt at the Silver Centre Secod Hand Shop.

Happy Birthday!

Miss Biliana is two years old today! It all started with a pair of shiny cowboy boots and I haven't looked back. Thank you all for visiting and please keep on coming back!
